Application of Polyacrylamide in Organic Wastewater Treatment

Recent studies have found that the use of PAM in combination with inorganic flocculants on organic wastewater is better than the use of inorganic flocculants alone.
Pharmaceutical wastewater: Antibiotic wastewater is a medical wastewater that seriously pollutes the environment and is difficult to treat. PAM is coagulated with other inorganic flocculants to achieve a good treatment effect. The addition of polyaluminum chloride and CPAM is added at a ratio of 40: 1. The coagulation effect is better, which not only reduces the sedimentation ratio, but also accelerates the sedimentation rate.
Oily wastewater: For the catering wastewater with good oil content, it can be flocculated and demulsified by flocculation method. Can try to use aluminum potassium sulfate with PAM compound. For industrial oily wastewater, chemical coagulation method can be used for treatment, with polyaluminum sulfate and APAM as flocculant, PH selected 6.0, the experimental effect is better.
Food industry wastewater: When corn is used as a raw material to produce starch, a large amount of wastewater containing high concentrations of organic compounds and suspended solids is produced. The commonly used starch wastewater treatment method is the biochemical method. This method has mature technology and good effect, but it covers a large area, high capital investment, technical difficulty, and complicated operation and management. For such wastewater, you can try to use sodium hydroxide, PAM as a flocculant for treatment. The process flow has low capital investment, simple process, easy operation, low energy consumption, strong adaptability to temperature changes, and the effluent quality meets discharge standards.
Pectin is a polysaccharide substance with good gelling and emulsifying and stabilizing effects. It is widely used in food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Using the residual Al in pectin wastewater, adding PAM and calcium hydroxide, and using the method of combined decolorization of slag and activated carbon, the wastewater can be treated to reach the standard of reuse water.
Chemical industry wastewater: The process of coal cracking is one of the main sources of PAHs in nature. It can be treated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in tar processing wastewater composed of composite flocculant composed of coal slag and PAM.
No process waste water is produced during the production of latex paint, but it requires a large amount of water to wash when changing varieties and cleaning equipment. It is characterized by intermittent discharge and large fluctuations in water quality. Generally, there are 2-3m³ of washing wastewater per ton of product, of which It contains emulsion, pigment, auxiliary agent and styrene monomer, etc. It is treated by coagulation-pressurized air floatation-coal slag and yellow sand adsorption filtration method, and aluminum sulfate and PAM are used as flocculants.
Printing and dyeing wastewater: In the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater, the coagulation method is often used as a treatment unit alone or together with other treatment units. The key is to find a flocculant and coagulant that is economically feasible and has good removal effect on dye and intermediate wastewater.
Cationic dyeing wastewater treatment methods include ion exchange, adsorption, electrolytic decolorization, and chemical coagulation. Considering the cost and effect of treatment, the chemical coagulation method has good application prospects. Polymeric ferrous sulfate and CPAM are used as flocculants. They have good treatment effect on dyes and intermediate wastewater containing naphthalene or its derivatives with one or more sulfonic acid groups.
Tannery wastewater: This type of wastewater is characterized by high alkalinity, deep color, high oxygen consumption and many suspended solids, and contains a lot of Cr3 +, Cr6 + plasma. The waste water not only pollutes the surface water system, but also causes great harm to human health. You can try to use polysilicic acid-based flocculant and PAM to process the leeching liquid. This method has the characteristics of simple process, convenient operation, less capital investment and small footprint, and strong adaptability to temperature. It is an ideal New method of treating tannery wastewater.
